Some make-up artist murdered my well-defined eyebrows. I carefully took care of it's shape since college.
Yesterday was my cousin's wedding, I was the Maid of Honor. I did not bring my kikay kit, I was expecting my kikay aunt to bring hers and do my makeup. Besides I'm not good in make-up for events, I can only apply 'everyday make-up.' My aunt was late and left me no choice but to let somebody else do it for me.
I came face to face with the makeup artist...sobrang kinakabahan ako, ewan ko ba, premonition yata. I tried to be optimistic and told myself that everything's going to be fine. His first command was "Sit down," I sat. Then he said, "Close your eyes" that I did, and I suddenly felt sharp edge and fast swoosh! I opened my eyes and there...raqlobster with one-lined right eyebrow! Nanlaki lalo mga mata 'ko! Gusto ko siyang murahin kaso nahiya ako sa bride and family, I just kept my mouth shut. Realizing what he has done, the makeup artist hurriedly grabbed an eyebrow pencil and painstakingly retouches my murdered eyebrow. He failed, and started shaving my left eyebrow, I said "Huwag na, ok na 'ko sa kilay ko. Tantanan mo na siya," I was speaking in a low voice pero pinandidilatan ko na siya. Only then did he stopped fussing with my eyebrows. He went on with my eyelids, cheeks, etc. His application was light...dull, which I'd rather than having heavy makeup.
I walked the aisle with one-lined right eyebrow and a sad left brow.
And that's how my brows are going to be this holiday season. I can't wait until it grows back. I miss my eyebrows.
